Last time, we cruised along the Northern California Coastline; now it’s time to rev up your Road Trip Planner and zip along the southern coastline to complete your own California Cruisin’ Dream Trip.

We left off in one of my favorite areas, Big Sur. Simply put — and the main reason to include this in your road trip planning — Big Sur offers stunning views. It’s that stretch of highway where land meets sea in a jaw-dropping way because the Santa Lucia Mountains rise like colossal sentries from the Pacific Ocean.

I recommend staying on Highway 1 for an unforgettable coastal road trip. This way, your Road Trip Planner will include highlights like hiking at Limekiln State Park, and treasure hunting at Jade Beach, one of the few places in the world where you can find quality Jade strewn about like pebbles.

Settle into your road trip with a scenic drive along the Cabrillo Highway till it turns into the San Luis Obispo North Coast Highway. Soon you’ll find San Simeon, home of the opulent Hearst Castle. Hearst Castle is the palatial estate built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. It’s one of the largest of historic house museums in the U.S. and well worth the ticket price for the informative tour.

From here, suggested places to add to your road trip planner are Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, and Pismo Beach (a popular ATV camping spot because of all the sand dunes).

Now here’s where I’ll recommend cutting over to Highway 101 to discover a California city with a decidedly Danish twist, Solvang. I found it utterly charming, with stores offering delicate lace and handmade quilts, Danish cuisine in quaint restaurants, and a European flavor to the buildings lining the main streets. Of course, you’ll see the ocean again once you head into Santa Barbara, a quintessential California coastal city.

Below Oxnard, you’ll find the sexy city of Malibu, full of opulent homes on the lolling hills and beautiful bodies on the beaches. Be sure to enjoy the Santa Monica Pier as you continue south. It’s a fun place to spend the evening. But you’ll definitely daylight to people-watch the myriad of characters found at Venice Beach.

By now, you’re in the thick of Southern California, a region where sunglasses, shorts, and flip-flops are the main attire. Another well-to-do city is Newport Beach, worthy of inclusion in your road trip planner. A delightful surprise on my last trip south was the Dana Point Harbor, one of the prettiest harbors I’ve come across in my journeys. Nearby, you’ll find San Juan Capistrano, another great cultural stop, this time with a Spanish twist, as you stroll the grounds of the California icon, Mission San Juan Capistrano.

If you want to taste the salt air & be completely surrounded by water, then add to your road trip planner a stop near Newport Beach and hop a ferry to Santa Catalina Island & explore the appealing city of Avalon. This is a popular cruise stop destination so you can enjoy glass-bottom boat rides, take a trolley car up to some lush gardens, or enjoy snorkeling to the left of the pier (on the pier, facing land).

Now it’s San Diego time, the biggest southern city before you hit the Mexican border! There you’ll find a thriving city with distinct areas like Little Italy, the Gaslamp Quarter, and Balboa Park. Include in your road trip plans a fun side trip by driving to an island, compliments of the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge. You’ll easily spot the famous Hotel Del Coronado, a sprawling white and red-roofed resort, which housed Presidents, movie stars & tycoons in its illustrious past. From there, scoot along the Silver Stand Highway just for the sheer enjoyment of cruising a highway flanked by water on both sides. For even more fun, enjoy a sunset gondola ride and pretend you’re in Venice, Italy! From there, you’re less than 5 miles from the Mexico border with San Ysidro being the southernmost community.

So there you have it. Between this blog and Cruisin’ The California Coastline Road Trip – Part I, you’ve now hugged the California coastline from stern to bow, complete with side-trips only the locals know about. To get the most out of this road trip, I’d plan on enjoying a two-week vacation. Hiking, swimming, surfing, beach-combing, ferry rides…filling your Road Trip Planner with these activities will guarantee you loads of fun and a lot of cool cruisin!

There are many conditions that can bring about misery in human beings from those of abject poverty to incurable illnesses which go on and on for years, depriving the person in question of any joy or real hope though perhaps this always reminds. It being this factor which provides those who suffer, the will to carry on or perhaps more importantly; a reason for wanting to do so. As they see a light or a possibility that there in fact is an exit which will lead them out of their despair even if this but the end of life itself. Of course, there are also those who choose their own misery. As they neither posses the will to leave a certain situation, perhaps being held back by fear of what may or occur or they continue in the hope that it may turn to their advantage; though perhaps deep down they are all too aware that this will probably not be the case.

Vampire romance books are a significant trend in today’s romance fiction books market. Vampire books like Twilight are all the rage. This article discusses why vampire romance books are so popular. Romance and the Hero

Liz Fielding, Jacqueline Baird, and Sara Craven are some of my favorite romance authors. Romance novels written by these authors range from cute love stories to hot and sensuous romance love stories. Diesel-ebooks is an awesome online store that has an extensive selection of romance ebooks at very low prices. Romancing the Letters 2

In my earlier article about letters I was a little wistful. I exhorted people to send real letters across to friends. I now realize, I was far removed from reality. All of which perhaps applying to the characters in our story. As they are trapped by their desires for that which they did not have the courage to take or renounce yet could not find it in themselves to simply walk away from. This creating a situation of perhaps the deepest misery imaginable. As they practically took to the ways of making each other as well as themselves suffer.

Our story begins in a small town in New Jersey which is so similar to any other in this state that its name does not really matter as much as the sort of place it is. It being a typical suburban town without much ever occurring that maybe considered news worthy outside of the lower income community which for the most part is a place where its inhabitants spend the night before going to work in New York City. As it is to Manhattan where they even go whenever seeking anything in the way of entertainment or social life of any kind.

It being in this small town where Joanna Kinsley managed the travel agency her husband set her up in as soon as they got married. Joanna, for her part being one whose maiden name in fact was Popławska. Joanna, having immigrated to the United States 10 years prior to the start of our story from her native Poland in search of new opportunity. Joanna, for the most part was a woman who most would consider attractive given her over all figure. Her standing at a height of 173 cm with large breasts and shapely legs. All accompanied by a face which though not extraordinary in beauty was at least pleasant to look at with nice features that include a straight nose and green eyes which she maintained were blue though the reality was that it was hard to really tell one way or the other.

Joanna, for the most part presented a lovely image of a sensual woman, who in fact was not exceptional in beauty regarding anything in particular yet overall was very attractive even if in all reality which few ever really noticed; hers was a common face made beautiful by a smile and expressions which had sadness about them. It being this factor which in a way elevated her face to a beauty rarely seen in how it could almost make her face and body radiate an inner tenderness which made her ever desirable in its sadness which many misinterpreted for joy. It being precisely this which they felt in her presence while she could never experience the same.

It is on a sweltering hot day in the month of June that we find Joanna working in her travel agency as that is how it was known to the public as well as her employees which numbered two. One of them being, Juan Garcia who in fact was American born yet of parents who like Joanna had immigrated to the United States though unlike Joanna, who had made her way to the States from Poland; his had done so from Argentina. Juan being very attractive in Joanna’s esteem, who even had dreams that included visions of the two of them being involved in most intense acts of sexuality in places of luxury such as yachts as well as most exclusive night clubs.

Juan having slightly darker skin than her own which given the many hours he spent on the beaches had gone even darker, to give him a most pleasant brown tone which Joanna could not help but stare upon sometimes to the point that she feared being caught in the act by Juan, himself. Juan apart from having skin which though not really dark was basically that of the average South American or at least what most Americans perceived as such, had lovely features for a man which included a nose which was perfect in being both straight as well as proportioned. This however being due to the plastic surgery he had had rather than having been born such yet the rest of him was all natural. All of it, from his brown eyes which like Joanna’s at times gave the appearance of being green like hers did with the color blue, to the rest of his face which was very nice to gaze upon.

Physically speaking Juan, did have a nice body according to many women even if his physique did not include large muscles or height above the average for a South American; his standing at 170 cm. It being the balance many a woman had seen in his body which was neither thin nor fat for that matter while being well proportioned. Specially, when he moved to the sounds of music, sometimes while sitting at his desk at work or dancing in many of the places he often frequented. Juan for his part was a man, who at the age of 43 had done a great deal of traveling. As this basically was the reason he worked in a travel agency, where his Spanish came in useful along with his advanced knowledge of all the computer programs one was forced to be good at if one even hoped to run a travel agency.

Joanna apart from being attracted to Juan, could feel that so too were a lot of her female customers, many of which had also commented; naturally away from his hearing that he too was to their liking. This perhaps being another reason that went beyond Juan’s usual competence which made them always wish to reserve their tickets from him. As Juan, also possessed the gregarious personality which tended to persuade many to go on trips; to places they otherwise might not have gone on. He having enormous passion for traveling and visiting new places which was more then noticeable in his dealings with Joanna’s clients, who definitely sensed this whenever they asked his advice on places they should visit. It being Juan, who in fact had traveled to most of countries he sold tickets to even to Joanna’s native Poland. She having been born in Warsaw, the capital city of her country.

Juan, for what concerned him liked Joanna though in all honesty; it can not be said that he was overly attracted to her. As he found her to be like so many other women he not only knew but had even shared sexual intimacy with. Juan, finding Joanna to be beautiful though with no features about her to make him desire her above many other women who visited their place of work. This both in her personality which he found to be that of a person who was very shy or looks wise. Juan, on this day even being less attentive to Joanna as he watched the football match between Argentina and Nigeria with the typical expectations of the Argentine fan that his country or that of his parents; would easily defeat a team like Nigeria which was not even close in having the football tradition Argentina had.

Joanna, for her part was glad to share in Juan’s joys as he cheered the country of his parents to victory even if through the television which she had allowed him to bring from home; so that he might not miss a single world cup match which was being played in South Africa. Joanna even feeling a connection with Argentina through Juan which she also wished to see win. This also being due to the fact that Poland had not managed to qualify and her knowing full well how happy Juan would be made to see Argentina win the world cup for the third time. This despite her not being a tremendous football fan though her knowledge in the sport did include the name of its legendary head coach, Diego Maradona.

If you have a road trip planned around the United Kingdom but don’t know what the very best routes to take are, then consider your call for help answered! We have put together a list of 5 great Road Trips around the UK that you should really think about taking. Check out our guide for more about the majestic scenery and attractions you will come across throughout your trip…

London to Brighton Road TripThis is a road trip whereby you can reach your destination in around a couple of hours, especially if you are coming from London’s centre. Brighton is due south from London, and around 90km from the city. To get there, the best route is to go south of the Thames and take the A23 South. You will be magically transformed from the busy city life to the freedom and peacefulness of the countryside as you hit the Weald Countryside of West Sussex, and then the South Downs.

After a while the A23 becomes the M23 and you will be travelling along the coast to Brighton, which received city status in 2000. Often called “London by the Sea”, Brighton has come a long way since it was notorious for the violent clashes between “Mods and Rockers” in the Sixties. It is now a place of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants, and a fashionable place to go shopping! The Lanes is a shopper’s haven. Brighton is a great destination to chill out in after a drive from London. The Royal Pavillion and Brighton Pier are two landmarks well worth checking out here!

Norfolk Coast Road TripIf you want peace and quiet – then a road trip around the Norfolk coast is exactly what the doctor ordered! To get there from Norwich, take the A47 to Kings Lynn. The drive from Kings Lynn to Cromer along the A149 is quite magnificent, and is famous for the nature reserves of Cley and Titchwell. If you have time, why not take the B1355 inland to the cornfield turned into a maze at Compton Hall!

The rural and rugged beauty of the Norfolk Coast cannot be underestimated. Many of the beaches along the coast are empty hideouts where solitude is the order of the day. What could be better than to stop off an empty beach with miles of sand, salt marshes, and forests.

If you are planning on staying around, the North coast is an area perfect for activities such as rambling and cycling. Or if you are driving in the area, make sure you check out the stunning villages composed of flint-built cottages, craft shops and galleries, and country pubs.

The Cotswolds Road Trip The Cotswolds is renowned for its majestic scenery, and is one of the most visited regions in the UK. It is famous for its village buildings made from limestone and adorned with ivy! Located in primarily rural setting, you will be astounded by the scenery including the Cotswold Hills, and charming towns such as Gloucester, Cirencester, Tewkesbury and the racing mecca of Cheltenham.

If you are travelling from east or west, get onto the M4 to the number 17 junction. After this, you will take the A429 to the north and make your way towards Cirencester. Why not drop off here and have a look around the pretty town and be charmed by its rural air. After here, take the A417 east and make your way to Fairford. From here, veer left to the Southrop, and make your way through the charming locations of Hatherop and Coln Saint Aldwyn. You never know, you might see some celebrities whizzing along the road in their sports cars, as actress Liz Hurley and model Kate Moss own properties in this region!

After reaching Barnsley, you get onto the A429 and head north to Bourton. After here, take a right to Westcote, which is the home of Oscar winner Kate Winslet.

The road from Westcote takes you to Stow on the Wold and keep on the A429 to Moreton in Marsh. It’s rumoured that this route has been in existence since the time of the Roman occupation of Britain. This road will bring you right back to the M40 thus completing your tour of the Cotswolds!

Yorkshire Moors Road Trip If you are looking for a bit of escapism, why not consider a Yorkshire Road Trip? Probably the best place to start off at is Leeds, which is now a great city for shopping and nightlife! From Leeds take the A64 road to York and then Malton. Get onto the A169 and make your way to Pickering. From Pickering you are on the route to the renowned Yorkshire Moors. If you take the A169 heading north, you will come across some really inspiring scenery. Some call it bleak, others call it majestic! From the Moors you will make your way to Whitby where you can sample some delightful freshly catched fish!

From here, take the A171 west, and pass through the charming villages of Stonegate, Castleton and Hutton le Hole and then onto Kirkbymoorside. You could stop off in places like Helmsley or Thirk or indeed any of the delightful villages in Yorkshire – some of them are exactly like Emmerdale are!

Scottish Highlands Road Trip A round trip of the Scottish Highlands area is around 400 miles and can be spread over 4-5 days, but its well worth it for its rugged scenery and the beauty of the countryside! If you are starting in Edinburgh, you will take the Forth Bridge Crossing, and take the M90 to Perth. From Perth take the A9 route and take a trip to the Blair Athol Whiskey Distillery which is to the south of Pitlochry, where you could spend the night, and the following day take the A9 through the Grampian Mountains to Inverness. Wonderful views await you here.

On the third day you could take the A96 to Elgin, and you can take a trip to the Glenfiddich Distillery at Dufftown. And if you sample some of the local produce, make sure to stay overnight here! The fourth day of your trek across the beautiful Scottish Highlands will take you on the B9009 to Glenlivet and its distillery, and then the A939, A93 and B974 to Fettercairn. Then you will take the A90 home.

A road trip through the Scottish Highlands is an unforgettable experience – you will explore the scenic beauty of moutain ranges, wonderful lochs and exciting wildlife. If you are coming from Glasgow you could also take the A82 and then the A83 to Inverary.

Does the thought of a family road trip strike fear into your heart? During the past 25 years, my family has taken many road trips traveling thousands of miles and we have great memories from those trips.

When we first started out, truthfully, we just threw our trips together and hit the road. But as time went on, we came to see the wisdom of planning our road trips a bit. If you are considering a family road trip, you’ll find some simple upfront planning will make all the difference in your travels.

Using a road trip checklist, you will save money, sanity, and time, as well as make sure your vacation is as fun as it can be. You can also make sure each member of your family pulls their own weight (depending upon age, of course), teaching them that great vacations are made, not born.

You can make your own road trip checklist (keep it on your computer for repeated usage) or feel free to use mine (see the resource box at the end of this article). On it, you’ll want to keep track of such things as…

- your travel budget (make sure your money gets spent on what you REALLY want),- what food to take in the car (save big over buying snacks in gas stations),- travel activities and games (you want to have fun, right?),- vital extras that can actually make or break a family road trip, – and destination details such as directions, phone numbers and ticket information.

When it comes to family road trips you will find success is in the details. For example,

- a mess in the car is no big deal when you have plenty of extra plastic bags and moist towelettes. But if you don’t have any of these items, a sick kid or a spilled drink can ruin everyone’s vacation mood…for many, many miles.

- Worried about hearing “are we there yet” so many times your ears will pop? You can cut these words significantly with the right amount and type of travel activities. But do you know how to structure those activities for maximum effectiveness?

A road trip can save you quite a bit of money compared to the cost of flying your family to your vacation destination. In addition, you won’t need a rental car once you get there.

However, you will be, in effect, living in your car with several people for several days. The more detailed your road trip checklist, the more satisfied you will be with your overall road trip experience. For example, by scheduling your meals and activities, you can make the trip itself as much a part of your vacation as your destination.

A road trip is an especially great way to spend long chunks of quality, unhurried time together as a family. This is where you will make the sweetest memories, Mom or Dad. It will be just your family in that car, to talk, to sing, and to laugh together for hours on end.

Just remember to take along your patience and your flexibility. Those are two qualities no successful road trip can be without.
